Enroll at MNIC

MNIC welcomes all eligible students who are 14–20 years old, have completed 8th gradelive in Minnesota, and have not yet graduated from high school.
Enrollment at MNIC is free and open to all, and the school is nonsectarian in its admissions, programs, and operations.

MNIC does not limit admission based on intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, color, creed, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other basis prohibited by law.

How Admission Works

MNIC enrolls every eligible student who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a grade level or school building.

If MNIC receives more applications than available seats:

  • random lottery will be held, as required by Minnesota Statute 124E.11.

  • All unselected applicants will be placed on a waitlist in lottery order and admitted as openings become available.

  • MNIC’s Lottery Policy and Process is posted on the school website each year.

MNIC may offer enrollment preference to:

  • Siblings of currently enrolled students

  • Foster children of the pupil’s parents

  • Children of MNIC staff
    (as permitted by state law)
